INTERIOR DESIGN
DESCRIPTION
The full Interior Design Consultancy Service is ideal if you are interested in a fit out, renovation or refurbishment of an entire residential or commercial space (or even just a room) and need construction works done by a contractor. Luso Studio creates your perfect space, starting with the initial consultation, design development, assisting with choice of furniture and decor, to site supervision and final touches. If you are not interested in receiving this end to end service, we can work together to personalise a package to suit your requirements.
HOW IT WORKS

STAGE 1 - UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROJECT
The initial stage of the project and the crucial moment to fully understand the scope of works, the client’s requirements and priorities, the vision, budget and timelines in mind. It’s also very important to take this time to conduct all necessary surveys on the existing places to find out the possibilities for the project regarding space planning, to point out the limitations in respect of regulations and if any authorised person will be required to be on board to submit any application to the relevant department. It’s based on this phase that a final fee proposal can be prepared.

STAGE 2 - PRELIMINARY CONCEPT DESIGN
After learning all the existing site conditions, a preliminary concept design is prepared based on the client briefing. This usually includes layout plans, reference images, material and colour palettes, any sketches and coloured elevations to help illustrate the overall intention and check possibilities for the space.

STAGE 3 - DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
After approval of the preliminary concept design, it’s time to develop and finalise the design by creating more detailed drawings and 3D images. During this stage, we will explore materials, finishes and details together based on your budget and style vision, and suggestions of furniture, accessories and decor will be made, in case you require ‘Interior Styling’ to be included as part of the service (refer to stage 6).

STAGE 4 - TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION
Preparation of detailed drawings and specifications for pricing by the contractor and for construction, liaising with architects, engineers, project managers and other consultants, when necessary, to make sure that the final drawings are compliant with regulations and standards. You will know after this stage the cost and programme for construction works.

STAGE 5 - CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISIONS (OPTIONAL)
When required, Luso Studio will work closely with the contractor during the construction stage purely to ensure that the design intent is followed, to respond to any possible question raised regarding the design, provide required additional details, help finding solutions for possible problems that might happen, markup shop drawings, attend site inspections and meetings and finally, prepare a defects list after completion so the contractor can do touch ups when necessary.

STAGE 6 - THE FINAL STYLING (OPTIONAL)
If you choose to include 'Interior Styling’ as part of the service, you can opt to add the procurement and storage services, where the studio will do the sourcing and purchase of items for you. Whether you pick these two additional services or not, you can also decide if you would like to have on-site styling included. Refer to ‘Interior Styling’ for more details.
The interior design consultancy service can be personalised to include styling with selection of furniture, accessories and decor, construction supervisions and procurement.

1 - During Stage 2 you will receive a ‘Concept Design Presentation’ including:
Proposed 2D floor plan with indicative furniture layout;
Moodboard with reference images, proposed colour scheme, materials, finishes and recommendations of furniture and decor (if applicable);
Sketches to help you understanding the concept and explore some details, when necessary.
2 - During Stage 3 you will receive a ‘Design Development Presentation’ including:
Revised 2D floor plan;
Revised moodboard;
3D model views showing the overall look of the space, finishes, built-in joinery, and furniture + accessories (if applicable);
Selection of all finishes and materials.
3 - During Stage 4 you will receive the following drawings and specification for pricing and construction:
Detailed floor, ceiling, lighting and finishes plans;
Room elevations;
Detailed drawings of built-in joinery (e.g. doors, kitchens, bathrooms, closets, etc) and custom made furniture (if applicable);
Schedules of finishes, fittings, fixtures, equipment, sanitaryware, ironmongery, and others, depending on the extent of the project;
Estimate list of furniture, accessories and decor with online links (if applicable).

CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISIONS

If you choose to include ‘Interior Styling’ as part of the service, the installation of items can be arranged but will be charged at cost.
If you choose to include ‘Construction Supervisions’ as part of the service, although there will be a liaison with the contractor during construction purely to ensure that the design intent is followed, Luso Studio is not responsible for any action, delay and quality of work, as the contractor will be directly appointed by the client.
